Offer a domain

For a bare name the bar is higher, because a name without a use is worth nothing to anyone. We look at:

A domain

  • Does the name say what it is about? A directory, place or subject term carries itself.
  • Is it old? Twenty years of unbroken registration cannot be manufactured.
  • Was something there? Site history in the archive is verifiable and counts.
  • Does anyone link to it? Existing links are why aged domains have value at all.

What we do not buy

To save you the trouble: invented strings with no meaning, freshly registered names, domains with gambling, warez or adult history (the link profile is poisoned), names containing someone else's trademark, and anything where the price is fixed in advance instead of negotiated.

Have a domain you do not use?
